Baptism & Membership

MEMBERSHIP

Membership classes happen twice a year in the Fall and the Spring or as needed.

The class meets in two-week increments and focuses on membership vows and the individual spiritual journey. Why has God brought you right here, right now?

The class involves discussion and a project. Interested in learning more? Contact one of the pastors.

BAPTISM

Adults who are not baptized will go through the membership process and then be baptized.

If you have already been baptized, you may renew your baptismal vows. We do not rebaptize.

No matter if your family has been a part of First Presbyterian Church for generations or if you are visiting with us for the first time, our pastor would be happy to speak with you about baptism.

Because our congregation takes vows to share the gospel with the children that are baptized in our congregation, we find it easiest to do that when we know the family well and when that family is actively engaged in the life of our congregation. Because of that, when baptizing children, we typically expect that at least one parent is an active member of the congregation, or that they have some other close family connection to this congregation. We do occasionally baptize the children of parents who are actively engaged in the membership process. If you are interested in finding out more about baptism at First Presbyterian Church, please contact one of our pastors.
