Rev. Andrew Barton

Senior Pastor and Head of Staff

Pastor Andrew is a native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and, of course, a Steelers fan. He was ordained in 1979 and has served as Senior Pastor and Head of Staff at Hamilton Square since 2007. In this role, Andrew provides preaching and pastoral ministry, organizational oversight and administrative leadership to our dynamic congregation and staff. He enjoys the challenge of keeping the church relevant in a ever- changing culture. Andrew and his wife Joyce have three married children and one precious granddaughter. They enjoy the work and leisure of their ‘farm’ in Carbon County, Pennsylvania.

Rev. Doug Cornelius

Minister for Youth and Christian Education

Pastor Doug grew up in Virginia, went to undergrad in Pennsylvania, and seminary in New Jersey. He was ordained in 2008, and FPC Hamilton Square is his first call in ministry. He works with the church’s youth group and their families, Christian Education programs, young adults, the contemporary praise band, missional ministries, communications, and creative worship. He is passionate about exploring new and explorative directions for church ministry while honoring tradition and learning from history. He loves spending free time with family, basketball, guitars, and his dog Gini.


Rev. Ann Schoonover

Minister of Pastoral Care

Rev. Ann Schoonover, a graduate of Princeton Theological Seminary, is ordained as a Minister of Word and Sacrament (“Teaching Elder”) in the PCUSA.  She is a member of the Presbytery of New Brunswick. She serves part-time at Covenant Church, tending to pastoral care needs and developing a regional older adult ministry program involving four churches. Formerly she served in specialized ministry as a chaplain in hospital, behavioral health, hospice/palliative and homecare settings. Ann has certificates from Good Shepherd Mediation program (basic and elder mediation) and Oasis Ministries in spiritual direction. Her experience includes companioning individuals/families facing transitions and end-of-life concerns and she has facilitated bereavement groups. Ann’s first career was at the NLRB where, as a “neutral” she endeavored to bridge differences in the Philadelphia- area private sector labor relations community. (Ann obtained a BA in Labor Studies from Penn State University, with minors in anthropology and linguistics). Ann’s husband, arbitrator/mediator Tim Brown, Esq., is a “ruling elder” at Nassau Presbyterian church, and serves on various church and Presbytery committees. Tim and Ann have two children:  son Robert attends TCNJ where he participates in ice hockey and lacrosse; daughter Audrey plays high school varsity field hockey and lacrosse. Ann enjoys preaching, music, and studying dance.
